"The church is ALWAYS asking for money". I recently heard that worn-out contention again. This is guaranteed to raise my blood pressure, my hackles and my dander. Why??? Because it's an untruth! In plain English, IT'S A LIE!!!… At least, for this church it is.
It's the WORLD that always asks for money: The checker at the super market, the holder of your mortgage, the phone company. That's OK. That's the way the world works. Every month you deal with a pile of bills. ARE ANY OF THEM FROM THE CHURCH?
It's your "UNCLE" who takes some of your money before you ever see it. Your FATHER doesn't do that!!!
There's no "free lunch", except the church. Consider!! You can gather with others to worship Christ, your Savior; you can do it in a setting that uplifts the soul; you can be instructed in the Word; you can receive personal counseling, and be visited by a pastor if you're sick, you can be married, buried, have your children instructed on Sundays and Wednesdays …and NEVER RECEIVE A BILL!!
Here's a paradox: Compared to government and bill collectors, the church ALMOST NEVER asks for money. Yet NOTHING is more important than what t he church provides, viz; THE LOVE AND GRACE OF CHRIST AND SALVATION FULL AND FREE.
