Can't Live On Baloney Alone

When I was a kid my mother would say, "You can't live on baloney alone, no matter how much you like it." As usual, she was right. Nothing but baloney is not good for us.

That doesn't stop folks from serving it up, or eating it up. There must be a market for it. There's so much out there.

Some current examples of BALONEY:

  1. Everyone and everything should be accepted; to do otherwise is less than loving. BALONEY!!
  2. If it feels right, it probably is. So do it. BALONEY
  3. You can GIVE someone self-esteem. BALONEY.
  4. Multi-culturalism and diversity are to be desired more than unity. BALONEY.
  5. If you feel guilty, you shouldn't. It's self destructive. If you don't feel guilty, you probably aren't. BALONEY.
  6. Love never has to say, "I'm sorry". BALONEY.

To paraphrase our Lord, "Man cannot live on baloney alone." Compare the nutritious, strengthening food of God's Word to the baloney above:

  • Is.5:16;
  • I Cor. 6:9-11;
  • I Jo. 1:8;
  • Prov. 14:12;
  • II Tim. 2:15;
  • I Cor.12:12-26.
