The other day I got to thinking about this whole TERRORISM” thing again… as tho I hadn’t thought about it before. What triggered it this time was an article (editorial) that attempted to draw a parallel between the HORRENDOUS EXPRESSIONS OF TERRORISM around the world and… can you believe it? THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. And I thought: CAN ANY AMERICAN HATE AMERICA THAT MUCH??? I am convinced that’s the motivation behind such NONSENSE.
How do we equate DUMPING TEA INTO BOSTON HARBOR with flying PLANES FULL OF INNOCENT PEOPLE INTO BUILDINGS FULL OF INNOCENT PEOPLE? How do we compare a ‘gaggle’ of farmers FIGHTING A PITCHED BATTLE with the British at CONCORD BRIDGE with the BEHEADINGS OF HOSTAGES and the intentional KILLING OF SCHOOL CHILDREN?
Terrorism is a DEATH CULT, which is about the SHEER SATISFACTION of killing and dying. It undermines the FAITH of the HUMANIST in the basic goodness of human beings. It is, in reality, a GLIMPSE INTO HELL and into the EVIL POSSIBILITIES WHICH EXIST IN HUMAN NATURE. TERRORISM IS EVIL IN ITS GROSSEST FORM.
The Bible reminds us, “WE are NOT fighting against flesh and blood – but AGAINST EVIL AND THE RULERS OF DARKNESS IN THIS WORLD, AND AGAINST SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS…” What to do? GIVE UP? CAVE IN? YIELD? NO!!!! The WORD OF GOD SAYS, “STAND FIRM!!” “THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL” against the people of God, the community of faith.
As CHRISTIANS our security, now and for eternity, is CHRIST. “He (GOD) Who is within you is GREATER than he (evil one) who is in the world.”
