I’m back! After a break during the busyness of the Lenten season, I am ready to begin the journey once again – this time through the book of Acts. And yes, I am just starting and I am already a few days late. I should get caught up this weekend.
A few notes on this short, introductory section. The first verse connects this book to the gospel of Luke, as the writer addresses Theophilus (lover of God) just as he did in the gospel, and he also references the first book. That first book was about Jesus Christ: who He was (and is) and what He had done. This second book is a continuation of the first, and a continuation of the story about Jesus. While we see Jesus little in the book of Acts, the story is still about Him and how His disciples continued His task by sharing with the world what Jesus had done for each of us.
Join us on this journey as we look at the early church and how God used them to spread the message of Jesus Christ to the world. Who knows, maybe you will discover some way YOU can be involved in that mission as well!
