This is a very key passage in Mark’s gospel to help us discover who this Jesus really is. It reveals two very important things as to who this Jesus really is. First, He is a real human being. Notice what He was doing in verse 38 – sleeping. God never slumbers nor sleeps according to Psalm 121. Yet Jesus was asleep, even in the midst of the storm!
The other thing to notice is that He is true God. He has the power of the Creator over His creation – even the power to stop the winds and calm the seas!
Who is this Jesus? He is 100% True Man and 100% True God at the same time!
