Jesus’ early, urgent ministry continues and moves forward as He shows His power over sin by fighting against some of the consequences of sin: illness and disease. God’s perfect world as He created it and intended it did not have illness, disease, or death. They only came about as a result of sin in the world. And now to demonstrate His power as true God, and because He hates sin and the result of sin, He heals people.
Although Jesus is trying to keep a low profile (He will not let the demons say who He is) people still hear about Him and what He is doing. Crowds gather, not to hear Him speak, but to be healed of their illness or oppression.
Who is this Jesus? He is the One who can heal and take away the consequence of sin in our world!
