In this section, Paul encourages the people of the church in Thessalonica in three ways.  First, they were reminded to live their live according to the will of God, and not according to their own desires.  True, we are saved by God’s grace and not by our works.  Yet we are called to live our lives according to GOD’S WILL not our own.  We do this simply because that is God’s will for His chosen people.  They were also reminded to love one another.  Once again, not to gain God’s favor, but simply because that’s what God wants us to do.

The final reminder Paul gives the church was about the end times.  The focus of Christ’s second coming is not one of judgment, but of hope of the resurrection of all believers to be brought together to Him.  It is a day of HOPE and GRACE and not of anger and wrath!
