This section describes the expansion of Israel under King David.  He conquered the Philistines to the west, the Ammonites and Moabites to the east, the Syrians to the north, the Edomites to the South.  And with these conquests he took in much plunder – gold, silver, and bronze – all which he dedicated to the LORD.

Notice especially verses 6 and 14.  The LORD gave victory to David where ever he went.  It was God’s doing for David, not David’s power.  David recognized that and gave glory and honor, as well as much wealth, to the LORD in thanks for the blessings.

Remember this when you do something well.  Maybe it’s God’s work through you.  Perhaps it’s HIS power, not yours that accomplished that task.  Give thanks to HIM!
