Paul gives one final, very strong argument to the Galatians concerning the freedom we enjoy through Christ. We also see the main problem confronting the Galatians. Someone was trying to convince them that they had to be circumcised (according to the Jewish law) in order to be Christian.
While we no longer have that problem of people requiring circumcision in order to become Christian, we so often face other requirements like church membership or attendance, doing this or not doing that. Paul states the truth if we add anything to Christ we take away his power to save us.
In Christ we are free. Yet Paul also warns us not to use the freedom in Christ to justify our human desires… but more on that tomorrow.
