I find it amazing how God uses the gifts of the people He calls to do His will.  Consider the Apostle Paul, the writer of the Book of Galatians as inspired by the Holy Spirit.  God used Paul’s education in rhetoric to be able to address those who were inaccurately teaching the people and leading them astray.

Those who were luring the Galatians away were doing so by telling them there were certain things (works of the law) they needed to do in order to be a follower of Christ – namely follow the laws and customs found in the Old Testament.  Add anything to Christ as our way of being saved from our sins, and we take away from what Christ did for us.

Paul uses logic to show the true intention of the Old Testament – the righteous shall live by faith.  Our faith in Christ saves us.  The law, and trying to perfectly keep it, only condemns us.  Jesus is the fulfillment of the law and the Old Testament.  He is all we need to be saved.
