Something important is missing. Usually in Paul’s letters he gives a section of thanksgiving to God for what the recipients are doing. Not so this letter. Paul quickly gets to the point of the issue and confronts them that they are falling way from the true faith and following ‘another gospel.’
His main concern is for their spiritual health. By following that other gospel, the people would be led away from their true faith. The Gospel Paul proclaimed is the true Gospel. God’s Word is the true Gospel. If others try to tell you different, don’t believe it. There are many who tell you a false gospel, one that came from man (Jehovah’s Witnesses), or one that came from a supposed angel from heaven (Mormonism), or sometimes from someone with a simple misunderstanding of God’s Word (you have to do this to be a Christian).
To know what the true Gospel is, we need to be in God’s Word. This book of Galatians lays that Gospel out quite clearly. As we study it, it’s my prayer that you will better understand the Gospel, so that you will know the truth and not easily be deceived!
