This next dispute is about the people not thinking that God is a just God. My question is this: Do you really want God to be a just God? Do you really want Him to show His anger and wrath towards sin and those who commit sin? Do we really want Him to test the church with the refiner’s fire to destroy all who sin? I really don’t think so. Actually, when we don’t get what we deserve it’s a good thing.
There is only one who withstood the refiner’s fire of God and was found to be righteous – Jesus Christ. He took the anger of God on Himself as He hung on the cross with our sins. He is the only just one, and He gives that righteousness to us through faith.
God continues to refine us daily, through His Word and the experiences and difficulties of life as He shapes and molds us to be His people, obedient to His will.
