Jesus came to serve, not to be served, and He shows it once again by healing two blind men. What I see as most significant in this passage is the timing of this miracle. Jesus is about to enter Jerusalem. He has told the disciples the reason they were going to that city. He knew what was going to happen to Him, how He would be handed over to be crucified, die, and rise again.
Yet in the midst of this final journey into Jerusalem, to fulfill His ultimate purpose (to give His live as a ransom for many), Jesus was still showing compassion to those in need, granting healing to those who believed in His humble type of power. Even Jesus ultimate purpose to give His life for us, was done out of compassion and love and concern for our very lives.
