Passage.

God is always turning our understanding upside down: Using the foolish to shame the wise and the weak to shame the strong, using everyday common people to do His great and awesome work. And then making sure we understand whose work it really was. Sometimes, like Gideon, we are pruned back until we think it is impossible to bear any fruit, or to do the task God has given to us, and then we are reminded by whose strength it will be done. Yet the part of this passage I find even more amazing is that God expected Gideon to be afraid, and even provided a way to reassure him in the midst of his fear. What big task has God given you that caused you to be afraid? Who or what did He use to relieve that fear?
