Midweek Help Needed

The Board of Education is desperately looking for co-superintendents for Midweek next year. Please prayerfully consider the spiritual needs of the children at Peace and the importance of their confirmation preparation! Questions/training may be addressed to Pastor Burma or Board of Education members.

Sunday, May 20, 2012: Acts 8:26-40

From this narrative about Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch we can learn quite a bit.  First, it’s best to lead the Spirit’s guiding.  How often do we feel led or encouraged to speak to someone, or help them in some way, but we let the situation pass?  Could it be that we are ignoring the leading of the Holy Spirit?  Philip had a thriving ministry in Samaria, yet was led by the Holy Spirit to a totally different place – to the area of Gaza, south of Jerusalem – to a single man in the midst of a spiritual crisis.

Second, reading God’s Word by ourselves isn’t always best.  We need others to help us understand God’s Word.  Find some trusted friends, some people that know the Bible, and study occasionally with them.  Or maybe join a Bible study at church.  I know that there are people who know a lot more about the Bible than you do.  That’s alright!  Learn from them!

But most of all, BE IN GOD’S WORD!  It is there where God reveals to us His truth!
